SoftMouse.NET Data Import Warning and Error Chart

When using the SoftMouse.NET FREE Data Importing service, if the tool finds any data discrepancies, you will be alerted on what needs to be addressed in your spreadsheet to correct these discrepancies.

There are two levels of messages:

Errors: these are messages where the import cannot proceed without the highlighted issue being fixed first
Warnings: these are messages that serve as an alert that you might want to address the highlighted discrapncy, however you cn still proceed with the import without fixing the issue

Depending on the message you receive, please follow the instructions below to update your import spreadsheet. If you have any questions about your import, please feel free to send us an email at support@softmouse.net and we would be happy to assist you.

A female animal (“{0}”) was set as father	Warning	Open your Import sheet and review the mating. If the female animal should be the Dam, transfer the Dam’s ID to the Dam Tag column. If the sex of the animal is incorrect, simply adjust the Sex column.
Parent “{0}” is missing from the Animal List, its data has been estimated	Warning	No action is needed, unless you wish to fill the real parent information in. If left as is, an animal record will be generated in its place, with estimated dates such as a DOB 21 days before birth of the corresponding litter/pups.
A male animal (“{0}”) was set as mother.	Warning	Open your Import sheet and review the mating. If the male animal should be the Sire, transfer the Sire ID to the Sire Tag column and review the Dam information. If the sex of the Animal is incorrect, simply adjust the Sex column.
Breeder “{0}” is missing from the Animal List, its data has been estimated	Warning	No action is needed, unless you wish to fill the real parent information in the Breeder Tab. If left as is, an animal record will be generated in its place, with estimated dates such as a DOB 21 days before birth of the corresponding litter/pups.
Parent mating information is missing from the Mating Tab, the data has been estimated. Pup list : “{0}”	Warning	No action is needed, unless you wish to fill the real parent information in the Breeder and Animal Tabs. If left as is, an animal record will be generated in its place, with estimated dates such as a DOB 21 days before birth of the corresponding litter/pups
Mating Setup date must be at least 21 days after the date of birth of the breeder “{0}”	Warning	Please review the age of your breeders. Animals may be too young for breeding.
The parent cage tag “{0}” was not found in the current sheet	Warning	No action needed, the cage tag will remain blank. If you know the cage tag, please enter the cage tag, and re-submit your sheet.
At least one parent tag was filled so the parent cage “{0}” will be ignored for this animal	Warning	No action needed, if required, please re-add the cage tag for both breeders post-import.
There are no viable parent candidates from cage tag “{0}”, parents must be at least 42 days older than the pup	Warning	No action needed. This warning indicates that the import tool can not identify viable parents in the Parent Cage Tag. The Parent Cage Tag will be added as a comment instead.
Parent cage tag “{0}” references multiple male parents : “{1}”	Warning	Please check the Parent Cage, and update to only include the Sire. Kindly note that two Males can not be imported as parents to a litter.
Field truncated from {0} to {1}	Warning	No action needed.
No mating found for this litter	Error	Please fill in the Mating information on the Mating Tab (Columns A-M) of the import sheet, and re-submit your file.
Litter Mouseline / Animal Strain value is missing	Error	Please enter the Mouseline / Animal Strain for the Litter, and resubmit the file.
End Date must be filled in when the animal is in ended or dead state	Error	Please enter an estimated End Date for the animal and resubmit the file.
End Type must be filled in when the animal is in ended or dead state	Error	For compliance purposes, please enter a value that describes the end type scenario such as “Euthanized” and re-submit.
End Date should be empty when the animal is in stock, alive, pup or mating state	Error	Please review the animal to determine if alive or dead. If Alive, please remove the End Date. If dead, please change the State to “Ended” and re-submit the file.
End Type should be empty when the animal is in stock, alive, pup or mating state	Error	Please review the animal to determine if alive or dead. If alive, please remove the End Type Value. If dead, please change the State to “Ended” and re-submit the file.
The physical tag “{0}” is duplicated in the list	Error	Please review Physical Tags and de-duplicate the tags, and re-submit the file.
Received date must be on or after date of birth	Error	Please correct the Recieve Date and re-submit the file.
End date must be on or after date of birth	Error	Please correct the End Date and re-submit the file.
Animal State must be Ended because the ended date is set	Error	If the Animal is dead, please change the Animal State to “Ended”. If the Animal is alive, please remove the End Date.
Wean date must be on or after date of birth	Error	Please correct the Wean Date and re-submit the file.
Tail tag must be on or after date of birth	Error	Please adjust the Tail/Tag Date to after the animal's DOB and re-submit the file.
Animal state must be Ended because end type is set	Error	Please review the Animal State and change the value to “Ended”. Then, re-submit the file.
A Mating should have at least one breeder	Error	Please review the Mating Record and add a Dam & Sire, and re-submit the file.
The litter birthdate must be after the parents' mating date. “{0}”	Error	Please correct the litter birthdate and re-submit the file.
There should be at least one male and one female for this mating “{0}”	Error	Please review the animal records in this mating, correct the data, and re-submit the file.
This mating “{0}” has multiple male breeders	Error	Please review the mating, and remove the incorrect breeder(s). Then, please re-submit the updated file. Please kindly note that only one male can be associated with a mating.

This Animal is in mating state so it should have at least one Mating record with no Disbanded date in the Mating sheet.	Error	If the animal is no longer in an active mating, please change the state of the Animal to “Stock” or “Ended” and re-submit the file. If the animal is a current breeder, please review the matings to ensure that there is atleast one Mating record that is not disbanded, and re-submit the file.
Parents columns must be filled in when the Animal is in pup state	Error	Please correct the Dam and Sire columns for all records with the state Pup, and re-submit the file.
The mating tag “{0}” is duplicated in the list	Error	Please review the multiple Mating Tags and de-duplicate the tags. Once completed, re-submit the file.
Mating Disband date must be on or after the Mating Set Up Date	Error	Please correct the Mating Disband Date and re-submit the file.
A mating must have an Animal Strain / Mouseline : {0}	Error	Please enter the Animal Strain / Mouseline and re-submit the file.
Litter wean date must be after Litter birth date	Error	Please correct the Litter Wean Date, and re-submit the file.

Sex must be listed as: “male or M” “female or F” “unknown or U”	Error	Please correct the record as: “male or M” “female or F” “unknown or U” and re-submit the file.
Animal state must be listed as: “Ended” or “Dead”, “Stock” or “Alive”, “Mating”, “Pup”	Error	Please review the Animal Tab “State” column, and enter one of the following states: “Ended” or “Dead”, “Stock” or “Alive”, “Mating”, “Pup”
The date should be in the yyyy-mm-dd format	Error	Please change the dates in Excel to yyyy-mm-dd, and resubmit your import sheet.
Both Cage Barcode and Cage Tag are empty for some cages. Animals will be imported with no associated cage.	Warning	No action needed. If you wish to associate all animals with a cage at import, please review the Cage Barcode and Cage Tag columns on the Animal List. Kindly note you can also associate animals to cages after the import is completed.
The sheet “Animal Tab” has exceeds the maximum row count	Error	Please note the maximum rows on the Animal Tab is 2000. Please adjust your file size, and re-submit your file. If you have more than 2000 records, please create another import sheet and import that file once the first file is successfully imported.
The sheet “Mating Tab” exceeds the maximum row count	Error	Please note the maximum rows on the Mating Tab is 2000. Please adjust your file size, and re-submit your file. If you have more than 2000 records, please create another import sheet and import that file once the first file is successfully imported.
Multiple setup dates were found for this mating, the first value will be used.	Warning	No action needed. If you have multiple matings with the same breeding pair, only the first mating will be set up. The import tool will associate any historical litters to the mating record.
