How to grant Edit Access Permissions on specific fields
NOTE: You must be the administrator of your SoftMouse.NET account to grant Access Permissions.
You are able to grant a user Edit access on specific fields (Genotype, Comment, Physical Tag, and Ear Mark) if they currently have View Only access. To review How to grant View Only Access Permissions, please click here.
Here are the steps:
- Click the Home icon button at the far left in the top menu
- Click the Permissions menu, then click the Field Edit Access submenu
- In the first drop-down list, select the user whose data you wish to share
- In the second drop-down list, select the user you want to share with
- In the third drop-down list, select the Mouseline you wish to share
- Select Records with no Mouseline to ensure all records that don’t have an associated Mouseline will be editable
- Select All Mouselines if you want to grant the user access to All Mouselines under the user whose data you wish to share
- Select individual Mouselines if you want to grant the user edit access to specific Mouselines
- In the fourth drop-down list, select the field you want the user to edit --- Genotype, Comment, Physical Tag and Ear mark are the specific fields the user can edit
- In the Data permission level drop-down list, select Edit
- Click Submit --- the page will refresh back to your user account
- Repeat steps 3-8 with any additional users
